June

28th

We went on a picnic yesterday in Battersea park where Bruno met Amelia.  Despite being 3 months younger she was very much the bigger of the two!  He did like her dolly though and enjoyed winding it a few times which basically involves bashing her on her bum or head - it didn't seem to matter which!  He also does this with his teddies at home so has obviously picked this up from nursery.

Bruno has also learnt to blow kisses, although, being Adam's son, he just thinks its making some cool noise rather than giving kisses - the nursery staff seem to like it though :o)

Bruno & Claire had to spend the whole day out so that they didn't get in the way of the decorator who is making our flat worthy of £425k - anyone want to buy it?!  Despite the rain, they had a fun time visiting all the parks in the area although Claire was shattered by the end of it!!  Probably walked 5 miles or more.

Adam treated them all to pizza for dinner.  We were beaten to the highchairs by the local posse so Bruno had to sit in a grownup chair for a while until the posse went home early.

Southwest Fest has started and we went along to the Fete this afternoon.  The music was too loud, there child friendly stuff was too old for Bruno and I only 1 person we knew so that killed about 10 minutes!  Here's a photo of Bruno before we went - all ready to walk there but then he decided the rucksack had to come off which meant he had to be carried!

One of the hats that will stay on for more than 5 seconds - thanks Aunty Karen!

So what else has Bruno been up to this week?  He's got a think for cars, will now fetch his cow if you ask him for it - best not to do this in the bath though as cow joins you!  Cow & Polar Bear are now in the airing cupboard drying off...  He will also throw things out the window - luckily he hasn't caught the neighbour yet but its only a matter of time before they get pegged from above!  Thankfully, any clothes that fly out the window have so far been caught by the washing line.  Posting is also the new black - especially behind the back of the sofa.

Bruno is also now the proud owner of not 1, not 2 but 4 new teeth!

24th

Enjoying lunch at Waga's but the noodles were a bit slippery!  He mastered the slurp well.

Another photo of the monster eating - beef in black bean sauce with noodles this time!

Bruno is 15m today and he got his first taste of blood.  Well, actually, second but the first was mine!  He decided to walk into a curb in the park which had him tumbling over and he bit his lip.  He's now sporting a rather thick lip!  That wasn't his only "first" this week - he had some white chocolate buttons and they appeared to be rather addictive.  Luckily mummy was around to eat most of them otherwise he'd probably be feeling sick by now!

Bruno enjoying quiche & a frozen fromage frais lolly.  What a combination... almost as good as choc-ice & chips ;o)

Playing in the park with Zooey today.  The jumper is a tad too small now and barely hides the expanding midriff.  Time to say goodbye to that one I think.

After playing in the park we went out for a Mezze lunch where Bruno had a try of the fizzy water.  He didn't like it but kept asking for more and making the "you've poisoned me" face!

15th June

This walking malarkey is very tiring on everyone!  The game of walk to daddy, walk to mummy is endless.  Bruno has now started to walk off on his own and we had to keep going & fetching him from trying to steal other children's balls in the park this weekend.  He also seemed to like sitting on the bench for no apparent reason - coping everyone else perhaps.

Sitting watching the day go by.  Note the hat - best buy of the year so far.  It stays on, it doesn't bother him and it only cost a pound!

We had visitors this week - granny & granddad and granddad taught Bruno to answer the telephone.  He picks up his fake phone and says "hiya" constantly now.... thanks!

Nattering on the phone!

We went to Cameron's first birthday party today.  Bruno loved the ball pit so that will be going on the Christmas list!  He even let the birthday boy share!!

Lucky Cameron has a swing in his Granny's garden!

... and to top it off we got cake & a goodie bag :o)

6 June

Bruno is getting better at walking every day now.  He will happily toddle a few feet between the two of us turn around and go again.  He thinks its hilarious!  I've got a video of him walking on my phone but can't seem to find a way of transferring it into a suitable file type to put on here.  No doubt Adam will be able to sort it out.

Today we had a typical Friday where we went to the park this morning to go on the swings, donating yet more clothes & toys to the local charity shop on the way.  Then lunch of a spinach tortilla (the Spanish version of an omelette rather than the Mexican kind!) with grapes for afters.  Despite loving the Spanish omelette he had a few weeks ago, he refused to eat any of his tortilla - must have been the spinach, he can spot healthy green stuff a mile away!  After lunch, some milk and a nice long nap with me for 2 hours.  Lovely :o)

This afternoon, it was a bit miserable so we got the paints out.  Bruno proceeded to paint every part of his body, the carpet, the table, me... you get the picture!  We should have stuck to yellow though!

Here are the results:

After painting we were able to pop to the park before it started raining and Bruno sat and watched all the toddlers running around playing.  He tried to join in but they weren't too happy about him touching their wheels.  Poor thing!

Then back to dinner which was already in the oven - I was organised for a change!  Jacket potato with cheese and some smoked mackerel.  After eating less than you would feed a fly all day he wolfed it all down :o)  He's now asleep so a good day!

1 June

The latest games are - throw the ball down the stairs, climb down, throw the ball up the stairs, climb up, throw the ball down the stairs....  It can go on for hours!  Bruno also likes to help out.  He's been shutting the dishwasher door and the washing machine door for a month or so now - often before he's asked with the washing machine but its a start.  This week he's started tidying up after meals too - he gets his wipe and rubs along the table and his tray.  I'm not relying on him to keep it clean at the moment though ;o)

Claire has a new phone with a camera attached - she's not got the hang of it yet though!
