Acknowledgements There are a great number of people who were involved in the planning, organisation and running of the whole weekend. We've tried to list everyone here to say thanks & provide links to all those that we can. If we've missed something or someone, please let us know. Firstly, a big thank you to all our family & friends who made the effort and took time off work to join us at our wedding, it wouldn't have been the same without you! We really appreciate the time & money spent in getting there and hope that you all enjoyed yourselves! Thanks to Anne, Claire's mum, for making the main wedding cakes and to her sister, Rosemary, to icing them so exquisitely. The smaller cake that wasn't cut on the day is slowly being devoured by Adam! (Now thoroughly eaten - A) Thanks to Ste for being best man and giving such a moving speech. We have your speech on a movie file and may put it on the website at a later date for everyone to listen to again! May we all be friends for many more years.
Thanks to both of the dads for making speeches too! Again, thanks to our two witnesses who made the whole thing legal, Andrew and Angie. Wedderburn Castle itself. The staff were helpful, unobtrusive and able to provide us with ideas. John, the chef, fed us exceptionally well and was friendly to boot! John also made the fairy cakes and cut out the icing, purchased from Jane Asher. A number of our guests stayed at the Waterloo Arms, where Chuck & Sheila took care of them. We also stayed here before moving into the castle for the weekend. Chuck provided some light relief on Thursday night to help ease the stress we were under!
Sa Masia String Quartet played before and after the ceremony and also provided some gentle background music whilst dinner was served. They are from Glasgow. Our Ceilidh was organised by Thistle Dubh Ceilidh Band who were also able to put on a disco afterwards. Again, this band came from Glasgow and are world renowned for their Ceilidh - shortly after our wedding they jetted off to Dubai! Our flowers were expertly arranged by the local florist in Duns, Sunflowers. He was also able to source the beautiful orchid plants that graced our tables on Saturday night and provided our guests with a present to take home with them. Saturday morning's shoot was organised by R Welsh & Son of Duns. George and the team guided up through how to use the shotgun and helped when we got it wrong! None of our guests managed to cause any particular mayhem with the guns, thankfully. Claire's dress was made by Karen Silver, of Witney. Unfortunately, Karen does not have a website to which we can link but please do contact Claire if you would like her details. She was wonderful at making the dress and providing expert advice. |
